One of my senior when I was in college, Sastika, challenged me to write something about childhood dreams. You can read Sastika's and Jane's too.
Back in time when I was just a little girl (read: the galau little girl), people asked me what will I be when I grow up.
And here are the lists:
I've been singing since I was 5 y.o at church on every Christmas Service until I reached 7. I feel free when I let myself express everything through songs. My parents never let be one of those famous singers, they said I'm too naive to be somebody in entertain world. Well, they were right (I hate it when they're right!)! I joined my first singing competition on 2012, I brought the trophy home but my parents reaction way far beyond my expectation (never set any expectation!). That was the hardest feeling I ever had! But, o well, let them! There must be a reason why God let me singing until this time. :) Serving him through my voice maybe?

A Pop Singer

A Writer/Story Teller
When my family our first computer at home, I started to try wrote some short stories. I asked my parents why I really love writing that time. My mom's answer was simple, because I love to read since little. I started to write but then viruses came in :( and taadaaa..... the stories gone! But here I am, starting again to write down more stories (but more event came up and stole most of my time). I write diaries, short stories, bedtime stories, some motivational stories to share. I love to share stories, to enlighten - empowered - motivate people's live.
Will you share your story for me? (Story of My Life on track)
Fashion Photographer
Since I watched American Next Top Model, I wanted to be a Fashion Photographer. I learnt how to take pictures from ANTM seasons. The pictures they got really were beautiful and I was amazed. I love photography since high school and I want to learn more. But it has the same fate with other dreams. Nelly is on track: It was only just a dream :)
Going to Film Academy
Before I decided to try in this academy (and never happening), I've been living with rejection (for my dreams). There is no approval for any of my dreams. I walked on the rocky road for years. I tried to figure out what will I be in the future, because there is no approval to reach my dreams. My parents wanted me to be a Chinese Language Lecturer, but I don't want it. But yes, I learned Chinese education. Back to this story.
I tried to learn more, practiced more how to make a good movie or how write a good movie. I told my parents about this. I promised them that I'll earn the tuition fee etc (I'll take the nearest university to study cinematography). But again, no approval for this.
So this is my gloomy and sad stories about my childhood dreams. Frankly said, I let some tears down while I'm typing this. I remember all the pain and all those hard times. I can't live without dreams because dreams are goals of life for me.
Be a dreamer, and you'll know what you will be in the future. All successful stories start from big dreams!
